Cuttlebug Spot D/T Card~ Back To School~School Spirit!!

Happy Sun.!

Hi~ya All!

How is everyone this evening? I do hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for September, because it is here Tuesday. This year sure did pass quickly, summer just whizzed by. School time again, and that is exactly what our theme is at The Cuttlebug Spot "Back to School". I decided to do a School Spirit Card & created a little backpack to go along with it.

I must say I pleased with the way they both turned out. I actually made the backpack earlier during the week, and the card on Saturday. It was my first time using my Hello Kitty cartridge and I have had it since May. I must warn you, cut HK at 3 inches or larger, because those little pieces can drive you up the wall. My first cut was at 2½ inches and it was really tiny. I was on the phone with Donna M., and I was telling her that my pieces were not fitting. She said they should fit, and I guess they would have it if I had cut the right face for the HK. LOL, I had to call her back and tell her what I had done. It was only after I decided to put together the first one I had cut, that I realized it was the wrong face, so I scrapped that cut in DS, and cut her larger.
For the card I used some of my SU! DSP, and the new Journaling CB folder, which HK is mounted on. Now for the backpack I actually cut it out twice, once in cardstock, and again in SU! DSP. I wanted to use the same paper, and it needs to have cardstock for sturdiness. I am glad I started early on that, because Thursday my DS was acting weird. It would only cut up to 22% and stop. It seemed OK when I worked on this card. I am going to try the other file again tomorrow.

I had seen a manual file for the little backpack on a blog last year, but it sure makes it easier when you can use your Cricut with a cut file. My friend Jen, had created a cut file last year which she sent me, and I had never used it. So I thought this would be the perfect time to use it along with my HK cartridge. I had to make a few adjustments, but I still loved the idea of not having to manual cut it. I hope you will check out all my DT sisters creations at The Cuttlebug Spot and get inspired to play along with out challenges. Catcha later!

DS/ Problems~~~Think Pink! ~Sneak-Peek!

Happy Fri.!

Hi~ya Everyone!

I hope all is well with you, and you are ready for another great weekend, as Summer is almost over. I haven't posted since earlier this week, been having a problem with my Cricut DS, and spent the last two days on the phone with CS techs. It starts to cut, and stops at 22%. They couldn't tell me why, but they are working on the problem. I hope to have this cleared up by Monday, as I need to get busy on some cards. Anyway, I did manage to make a Breast Cancer Awareness card, since it will be here soon, October as a matter of fact. I have posted the details on my other blog,
Um Buggin's Cricut Cuts & Stamps!
If you are interested, the details can be found there. Just wanted to check in, and I hope to have something new for you by the beginning of next week. Have a great weekend!

Hi~ya All!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It sure did go by fast, as we are kicking off another Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week our challenge was to use the word "HOT". Now is had been just that here in Tracy, lol anyways I decided to create my card with a Cricut cut and CB embossing. I use BB cartridge for the cup, nesties, DCWV cardstock, love that curry color, SU designer papers, MS punch, and everything else is from my stash. I also used my CB to cut those tiny little letters, thanks Sharon for the tip. Be sure to check out all my D/T sister cards, and play along with us. Well that it is for now, catcha later!

In Loving Memory~ Sympathy Card

Happy Sat.

Hi~ya All!

I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weekend, and doing some creative crafting. I wanted to share with you today this sympathy card I made earlier this week. I posted it on the Cricut messageboard, but I forgot to post it here. I had so many request about the bible/book design I used, I decided to give you the details. The card is a 5 x 7 size, and the book/bible is from the new Spellbinders Labels 7 dies. They were just released the day of the CHA earlier this month. I was very fortunate to receive mine early from a wonderful friend Glenda, of Glenda's Creative Place . I also purchased more of the new ones for the holidays, but I won't be showing them just yet. If you are looking for the new dies, be sure to check out Glenda, and she will be more than happy to assist you. Now back to my card, I used Stampin Up's cardstock and designer papers for this one, which were the in-colors that just ended in June. I love that I can coordinate them together, and they also work well with other brands. The book was cut using 3 of the labels dies from the set, with the smaller one being printed on vellum paper. I just added a few embellishments and that is pretty much it. I think this design can be used for many different occasions.
If you are in need of a Stampin'Up demonstrator, feel free to contact me. Have a great weekend, chat soon!

Happy Birthday ~I Like you!~Cute & Simple!

Hiya, it's me again.

I just wanted to post this cute little birthday card I created for a kid, plus I wanted a break between the sympathy cards. This card is really quite simple to make, using only stamps and punches. No cricut or cuttlebug here...(:( I did use SU cardstock, ink, stamps, and punch. Also, I got a chance to use a couple of different punches from my stash. I thought this would be a great card for a younger male, now I need to get busy and do something for the younger female. Will catcha' later!

Cuttlebug spot D/T Card~ Invitations!!!

Happy Sun.!

And a very "good evening" to everyone. I hope you had a lovely weekend, and are getting ready for Monday. It is time for another Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week the design teams assignment was to create an invitation. We could use what ever theme we liked, and the team really stepped up to the plate. I chose to create a "bachelorette party invite". This was an easy card as I had just finished using this awesome SU colored cardstock and design paper. This is the "pink pirouette", the incolor that ended in June. I figured I might as well use up the scrap pieces as my stash keeps growing. This card is an A-2 size, and just perfect for an invite. For this card, I used my label nesties, and my Cuttlebug textile folder for the embossing. I had the bridal diecuts in my stash, and a SU stamp for the sentiment. Added a little ink to the edges, and few rhinestones, and whaa-laa, my card was done. I love to do a simple card every now and then. If you are up for the challenge, stop on by and play along with us this week. There is a fabulous prize being sponsored by Custom Crops!
Be sure to visit all the designers blog, and please leave a comment. It really makes us feel good to read all your lovely responses. Have a great Monday!

Sympathy-The Lord's Prayer~The Cutting Cafe!!

Happy Fri.

Hi~ya everyone!

Woo-hoo, I'm so glad it is the weekend. I have been having a non creative spell here. Hopefully it is passing by, as I have been wanting to use this awesome printable stamp from Regina's The Cutting Cafe' files. When I first laid eyes on it, I knew it would be the perfect stamp for many occasions. This is the first of what I know to be many uses of this gorgeous stamp. I had to make a few more sympathy cards, two for someone I have known since 1961 who passed away. I always like to have a few spares on hand, because you never know when you will need one. Anyway, I created this card using DCWV, Stampin Up' cardstock, designer paper, and ink. The tiny book and labels were cut with my Spellbinder dies. The butterflies are from my MS punch. The inside sentiment is computer generated, and the others are stamps. Everything else is from my stash. If you haven't visited Regina's Cutting Cafe', I advise you to do so. There are some fabulous designers and lots of inspiration there. Catcha Soon!

Cuttlebug Spot~D/T card~ From Sketched Image!

Happy Mon.

Hi~ya All!

A happy Monday to you all. Just a quick little post as I am writing this late Sunday night, and scheduling it to post early in the morning. This card was created from a sketch provided by our very own D/T sister Amyee. Our assignment this week was to create a card using this sketched image. Well, mine kinda reversed from the original, and I had to add my own personal little touches. All in all I think it turned out pretty cute. I used some of my DCWV designer cardstock, and SU's stamps, cardstock, and inks. I used two different kinds of punches, along with my nesties and Cuttlebug folders. I love the happy bright colors, a change for me. Why not come and play along with us, same time, same days, same Cuttlebug Spot. You don't know what you are missing!
Until next time,
