Always On My Mind~Forever In My Heart~~Valentine's

Happy Monday!

Hi~ya All!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their MLK Holiday today, and getting ready for tomorrow. I'm really excited about being able to experience the change, and the making of history of our new president. Well enough political talk! (LOL) Here is a card I made last week while I was dearly missing my internet, but I guess it done me some good. I did something a little different, using the MCPT technique, lots of inking and glittering. I also use my scor-pal, CC cartridge for some of the fancier cuts, finally was able to get a nice clean cut at a smaller size. I needed to change my mats and blades. This card I created for the Cuttlebug challenge, which I am one of the design team members. Our challenge this week was to make a Valentine card, without using any red or pink colors. If you haven't checked it out, you should, as you can always find some creative ideas there, and could win a prize. I just love viewing the creative ideas that everyone has. Last week I couldn't find my vibes to make a card, so this is why I decided to just color a little. I chose to use the SU in-colors from last season of Blue Bayou and Soft Sky, for the card stock and inks. I used Prisma color pencils for the coloring of the MS bird stamp, and lots of stickles for the sparkle. The lower border punch is from Fiskars, and of course I used my little buddy, the Cuttlebug folders, Swiss dots, and JMT folder strips. The bird is popped with dimensionals for the 3-D look. A lot of cutting and inking here folks, as the image had to be done twice, and hand trimmed. But all in all I love the finished product. The sentiment is also from SU, and the flourishes was also cut twice for the 3-D effect. I added ribbon and aqua rhinestone from my stash. The final touch was a silver heart which is attached with a drop ring. This card comes complete with a envelobox, which I made with matching card stock. I used my Ultimate Crafter's Companion, my Christmas gift from my daughter. It is perfect when you have cards with lots of layer or a 3-D dimension. Well that is about it for today, will have more cards this week, but only posting one a day. Check back soon to see all of these new cards! And I would love to hear your comments, and be sure to follow my blog for updates!!
