CB-Spot D/T Card~Sketch~Choose Your Theme!

Happy Mon.!

Hi~ya all!

How is the weather where you live? It has been scorching here, and I think it has fried my brain, lol. I finished my CB Spot card, and forgot to send it to Nilda, so I am missing at the moment over at The Spot. See, I told ya' the heat has an effect on my memorex....hee-hee. Anyway, this week over at The Cuttlebug Spot our theme is "Sketches", and we could choose our own. I must say I am horrible at following sketches, but I tried. I always like to incorporate my own little flare into these as you will see with my card. Our very own DT sister designed this sketch, thanks Amyee!

For my card I created a birthday theme using DS cardstock,Bazzill, DCWV, and SU. Who would have thought that mixing all these names together would work, well you know me, I like to try almost anything. My cake image was cut using my nesties from a DCWV stack, that my BFF Donna M. gave me for my BD last year. The sides were not my original idea, I had seen a beautiful card on one of my favorite designers blog, Becca. This lady is so amazing with her creations, I see why her blog is called "Amazing Paper Grace". Talking about awesome...SHE is!

This card was huge, but I managed to cut it down to 6 ½ x 6 in size. I had to make my sides fit, the background is embossed with my favorite Swiss Dots CB folder. The petals on the paper flowers are inked with Tim Holtz distressing ink. I used my MS loopy punch on the bottom, and the little florets are from a CB die-cut. I stamped HB with my SU stamps, and popped it with dimensionals. Added a few Kaiser pearls and a bow and there you have it. Be sure to check out all my D/T sisters cards and come and play along with us. Have a great week all. Catcha' soon!
